ACCESS TO ADVICE AND SUPPORTING ORGANISATIONS INVITE YOU TO A PUBLIC MEETING

The Future for Public Funded Legal Advice

Monday 1st October
From 5pm, with refreshments

Cross Street Chapel, Manchester M2 1NL

Speakers:

Yvonne Fovargue MP (Chair of the All Party Group on Legal Aid)
Kate Green MP (Chair of All Party Group on poverty)

How do we save and maintain publicly funded legal advice?

Publicly funded legal advice and representation are essential for millions of UK residents:

  • supporting their legal rights in employment, housing, benefits, debt, immigration
  • ensuring that they are treated fairly under the law.

Yet access to advice services is under serious threat due to:

  • Massive increases in demand as housing and debt problems rise and major benefit changes are introduced.
  • Massive cuts in funding as Legal Aid, council budgets and other funding streams are slashed.

Come along to the meeting. Tell others about it and use the embedded leaflet below.
