March for a Future that Works

MARCH AND DEMO IN LONDON

I wish to draw your attention to the TUC ‘March for A Future That Works’ in London on 20th October.

The March has been called by the TUC to demonstrate opposition to this Government’s destructive policies and send out the message that:

  • Austerity isn’t working
  • Spending cuts threaten a lost decade for young people
  • The urgent need for investment and jobs
  • Quality public services need to be defended and improved

Only this week the Government’s failed policies which have led to recession have prompted suggestions of an Autumn budget with ‘nuclear’ cuts in central and local government and massive further attacks on public services at a time when they are needed more than ever.

The March will assemble from 11am on the Embankment.

The Branch Executive resolved that our Branch should play a full part in this demonstration and have block booked 200 free train travel and underground passes for members to attend.

Departure and arrival times have not yet been confirmed for the TUC special train to and from London though it is likely to be leaving approx 7am from Piccadilly returning from London Euston approx 6pm/7pm.

Final details will be notified to everyone booking a seat once available.

To reserve a seat members need to provide the following details to the Branch by submitting their details into the form below.

The above details are required to notify members of arrangements for distribution of tickets nearer the 20th October and in particular the Branch can notify members of any late changes in travel arrangements.

Members who receive confirmation of a ticket being reserved must notify the Branch immediately if for any personal reasons they know they will not be able to travel on the day so the ticket can be used by another member.
