Save the Education Maintenance Allowance

UNISON, UCU, NUS and NUT have launched a joint union petition against the axing of the Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA).

EMA is a vital means tested allowance that provides support to college students from low income households.  It has more than proved it’s worth but the ConDem government looks keen to axe it.

There’s more information available from emacampaign.org.uk and we want you to sign the petition here and write to your MP to ask him or her to sign the Early Day Motion (811) calling for the EMA to be saved.  To contact your MP, use writetothem.com or theyworkforyou.com
