We are aware that more Branches will be discussing the requisition over the next few weeks which is welcome to demonstrate the strength of feeling across the region.

Should further Branches agree the requisition please let us know by emailing unison@manchester.gov.uk so we can update the list.

The requisition request under rule first has to be considered by the Local Government Service Group Executive who are next due to meet on 26th November.

Any decision taken by that body would then be referred to the National Executive Committee which is next due to meet on 3rd December and who would need to approve arrangements.

Hopefully soon after that Branches will be informed of the process and timetable.

Thanks to all who have helped achieve this and allow Branches and Regions to discuss not just what has happened but agree the best way forward to ensure improved pay for local government which is, or at least should be, a fundamental objective of the union.

Kind Regards

Evelyn Doyle
Branch Secretary
